EmailPastor Self graduated from California State University East Bay in 1970. He began his church ministry career in 1970 as Principal and teacher at a small Lutheran elementary school which, after two years, became a dual parish school from Pre-K through 8th grade of approximately 250 students. He completed the Teacher Colloquy program at Concordia University Chicago in 1980. After teaching for 12 years he began studies at Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, IN. After graduating in 1986, he was called to serve as Associate Pastor at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and School, Fremont, CA. In 1990 he was called to serve as sole Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sacramento, CA where he served until his retirement in 2006. He and his wife Sharon moved to Goodyear, AZ in 2006 and began worshiping here at Trinity Lutheran Church where it has been a joy to be a part of the ministry.
