Advent is it time when we remember and rejoice that Jesus is the Christ, the long-awaited Messiah of the Old Testament times1. This is a crucial part of the Gospel; this is the storyline of Holy Scripture; the word “Christ” captures the Person and Work of the Son of God!

The Lord Jesus is the CORNERSTONE of the Christian Church; He is the SOLID ROCK and which we stand. Faith in Jesus includes the confession that He is the Christ. The Christian confession includes a clear understanding and the bold confession that Jesus is the Christ, the One anointed by the Holy Spirit to be the Savior of the world; He is the long-awaited Messiah of the Old Testament times!

Faith in Jesus includes that you confess that He is the Christ, the long promised Savior of the Old Testament who has accomplished the work of salvation with His life and death.

St. John summarizes the purpose of Scripture at the end of his Gospel when he said that “these things are written so that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and that by believing, you might have life in His Name! John 20:31

You can have 100% confidence in your salvation.
Your sins are forgiven.
You do have peace with God.
You do have eternal life.

ALL BECAUSE JESUS IS the Christ!
