I AM WHO I AM.

This is the Name by which God revealed Himself to Moses in theburning bush on Mount Sinai. God had called Moses to go to Egypt,to confront Pharaoh, and to lead His People out of slavery to apromised land flowing with milk and honey.

God sent Moses with the power and authority of His Name: I AMWHO I AM. In the rest of the Old Testament, God’s Name is shortened to just I AM.

Now jump ahead roughly 1500 years. Outside Bethlehem an Angel appears to shepherds and says w h a t s e e m s i m p o s s i b l e:

The angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. “ Luke 2:10

The LORD, the great I AM of the Old Testament, is now on earth, in flesh, and lying in a manger!

Jesus is I AM;
He is God on earth to save the world from sin and death!

On this Transfiguration Sunday, be absolutely assured of your salvation8. Your sins are forgiven. You have peace with God. You have eternal life. I AM is your Savior!

The God who rescued the Israelites from slavery to Egypt in the great exodus is your God; He is the same one who has rescued you from slavery to sin in His great exodus through death and resurrection.

Jesus is I AM!
