Today we’re beginning a new series on the prophet Samuel in the Old Testament. Samuel holds a unique position in the Old Testament: he is the last Judge Israel and the first Prophet; he transitions Israel from a Theocracy into a Kingdom. The Book of 1 Samuel tells his story; and it shouldn’t surprise us that someone of his importance has a miracle birth story!

You are holy to the Lord through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!
You are as holy as Samuel was serving before the altar of the Lord!
You are as blessed as Hannah was praying to the Lord her God!

Samuel was a great judge and prophet of Israel; Hannah was a beloved wife and faithful mother to her son. May you learn from both of them to live in holiness before the Lord!
